Rahul Gandhi Clip Misrepresented
New Delhi (Visvas News): The winter session of Parliament ended on a tumultuous note due to protests from both the ruling and opposition parties over the jostling in the Parliament premises. A case has also been registered against Rahul Gandhi under various sections in Delhi in this regard. Amid this, a video clip of Rahul Gandhi is going viral on social media, claiming that he allegedly accepted that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs were jostled in Parliament.
In its investigation, Vishvas News found this claim to be false. The viral video is altered. In the original video clip, Rahul Gandhi was talking about the scuffle with Mallikarjun Kharge, however, the reference to Kharge has been removed from the viral clip, making it appear as if he accepted that BJP MPs were pushed on the Parliament premises.

Social media user ‘I Support Dr Mahesh Sharma’ has shared the viral video clip (archive link) with the caption, “Rahul Gandhi himself is admitting that he has pushed, and is shamelessly saying that nothing happens by pushing. Due to his push, the head of a senior MP got fractured, two MPs are hospitalised and Rahul ji is saying that nothing happens by pushing. Arrogance, tyranny and dictatorship run in the veins of the Gandhi family… shameful.”
Many other users have shared this video with similar claims.
Several BJP leaders have shared this video in the same context from their official handles.
Investigation
To verify the authenticity of this claim, we carefully analysed the viral clip. In the 16-second video, Rahul Gandhi is heard saying, ‘Yes… yes, we have done it… we have done it… but it’s okay… it’s okay. Some… some pushing doesn’t hurt us. But this…!”
However, Rahul Gandhi’s response is related to a question asked by the journalists. When they asked him, “… Kharge ji has been pushed… Kharge ji has also been pushed…”, He replied, “… look… look… yes… yes, we have done it… we have done it… but it’s okay... it’s okay. Some… some pushing doesn’t hurt us. But this…!”
Upon listening to this clip, it becomes clear that Rahul Gandhi did not accept the scuffle in the Parliament premises, rather he acknowledged the scuffle involving Mallikarjun Kharge, as referenced in the journalists’ question.
Since this viral clip is incomplete, to verify its original context, we searched for the source and found the full clip on news agency ANI’s X (formerly Twitter) thread. In this clip, Rahul Gandhi’s complete statement from the Parliament premises is included. Responding to the journalists’ questions, he says, “… no... no see… I don’t know... (calm down) it must be in your camera… this is the entrance of the Parliament, I was trying to go inside it… So, the BJP MPs were trying to stop me like this (indicating blockade with hand)… they were pushing… and were threatening me… so that is what happened.”
Following this, the journalists asked him about the scuffle with Mallikarjun Kharge, to which Rahul Gandhi replied, “... look... look... yes... yes, we did it… we did it… but it’s okay… it’s okay. No… no means we are not affected by the pushing and shoving. But this is the entrance of the Parliament House… and we have the right to go inside. And the BJP members were stopping us from going inside.”
Later, the journalists asked him more questions, to which Rahul Gandhi responded, “The central issue… the central issue… the central issue is that they are attacking the Constitution and insulting the memory of Ambedkar ji.” Saying this, Rahul Gandhi walks out of the Parliament premises.

This statement of Rahul Gandhi is also mentioned in the same context in the report of news agency ANI.
According to an ANI report, following the incident, BJP leaders filed a case against Rahul Gandhi at the Parliament Street Police Station under sections 109, 115, 117, 125 and 351 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for allegedly injuring BJP MPs.

It is noteworthy that Congress protested in the Rajya Sabha (see report) over Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement on Bhimrao Ambedkar and demanding his resignation.
At the same time, in response to Congress’ protest, the ruling party also held counter protests. BJP alleged that Congress is distorting Shah’s statement on Ambedkar and regarding this, Amit Shah held a press conference to present his side and accused Congress of spreading confusion.
The winter session of Parliament was disrupted over this issue and the Lok Sabha was adjourned indefinitely.

We contacted Congress national spokesperson Akhilesh Pratap Singh regarding the viral video clip. He called it BJP’s propaganda and said, “In the video clip that BJP leaders are sharing, Rahul Gandhi can be clearly heard talking about the scuffle with Mallikarjun Kharge.” He said, “The claim of the BJP leader who is currently hospitalised should be investigated.”
The page sharing the viral video clip with the false claim belongs to BJP MP Dr Mahesh Sharma with over two lakh followers on Facebook. Fact check reports on other viral claims related to Rahul Gandhi can be read on the Vishvas News website.
Conclusion: The viral video clip of Rahul Gandhi with the claim that he has accepted the scuffle in the Lok Sabha premises, is altered. He had accepted the scuffle with Mallikarjun Kharge in the Parliament premises, and the reference to Kharge was removed from the viral clip, making it appear as if Rahul Gandhi accepted that BJP MPs were pushed. In reality, he was responding to a question from journalists about Mallikarjun Kharge being pushed.
