Madan Mohan Malviya Hospital Directed by NMC to Adhere to Rules
The pursuit of justice for six-year-old Tanishka, fondly known as Aarohi, has taken a significant step forward. The Probe had first brought to light the heartbreaking story of Aarohi’s sudden death at Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya Hospital in Delhi on October 15, 2024, exposing allegations of medical negligence that shattered her family. Now, the ripples of that investigation are being felt, as authorities step in to address the family’s desperate pleas for accountability.
In a major development, the Saket District Court has directed the Delhi Police to secure the CCTV footage from the hospital for October 14 and 15, 2024—the two critical days when Aarohi was taken for treatment. The court order comes as a beacon of hope for Aarohi’s grieving parents, Rinki and Mohit Kumar Parcha, who have long insisted that the footage could reveal the truth about their daughter’s final moments.
Adding weight to the family’s fight, the National Medical Commission’s Ethics and Medical Registration Board (NMC) has also written to Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya Hospital asking for the hospital to comply with the law of the land. The NMC has reprimanded the hospital for failing to provide Aarohi’s medical records to her father, Mohit Parcha, despite his repeated requests. In a strongly worded letter to the hospital’s Superintendent, the NMC cited Clause 1.3.2 of the Indian Medical Council (Professional Conduct, Etiquette, and Ethics) Regulations, 2002, which mandates that medical records be provided to patients, authorised attendants, or legal authorities within 72 hours of a request. “If any request is made for the medical records…the same may be duly acknowledged and documents shall be issued within the period of 72 hours,” the NMC stated, urging the hospital to comply immediately.

How Did Aarohi Die? Family Demands Answers
On October 14, 2024, Aarohi was taken to Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya Hospital with mild stomach pain and nausea. Her family described her as a vibrant child who walked into the hospital on her own, with no severe symptoms beyond a lack of appetite. Doctors prescribed medication and sent her home, advising a follow-up visit the next day. However, on October 15, tragedy struck during the return visit. According to her parents, within minutes of receiving two injections, Aarohi’s condition deteriorated rapidly, and she passed away, leaving her family in shock and disbelief.
Her uncle, Sunny, who witnessed the events, noted that her vitals were normal just before the injections, raising questions about what went wrong in those critical moments. The family alleges medical negligence, pointing to the suddenness of Aarohi’s death and the hospital’s evasiveness afterward. Aarohi’s father, Mohit Kumar Parcha, arrived to find her body turning blue and received no answers about the injections administered. Hospital records further fueled suspicion, listing her arrival time as 12 noon despite the family’s claim—and call records showing—they arrived at 10:30 AM. As per the parents, the doctors reportedly fled after informing the family of her death, and the hospital has since refused to provide her medical records, prompting outrage and a demand for accountability.

For Mohit Parcha, who has tirelessly sought answers about the injections administered to his daughter and the sudden deterioration that followed, these developments mark a turning point. “Through your channel, I want to say that what happened to us should never happen to another child,” he had told The Probe. As the CCTV footage is retrieved and the medical records are compelled to be released, the truth about Aarohi’s death may finally emerge.
