Polling for Elections 2024 Phase 2 commenced today in 88 constituencies spread across 13 states, marking the second stage of the 18th Lok Sabha elections. The polls opened at 7 AM and will close at 6 PM.

Elections 2024 Phase 2 Facts

In this phase, more than 16 lakh election officials are managing the voting process for over 15.88 crore eligible voters at approximately 1.67 lakh polling stations. The electorate comprises 8.08 crore male, 7.8 crore female, and 5,929 third gender voters.

There are 34.8 lakh first-time voters registered. Additionally, the 20-29 age group sees a robust 3.28 crore voters ready to cast their ballots. The contest features 1,202 candidates, including 1,098 males, 102 females, and 2 from the third gender.

For Phase 2, the electoral roll includes over 14.78 lakh voters aged 85 and above, 42,226 centenarians, and 14.7 lakh voters with disabilities (PwD). These groups have been offered the option of home voting to facilitate their participation in the election process.
